Synopsis
The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. The series follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
This is the first live-action Star Wars television show and will premiere on the Disney Plus streaming service. It was officially announced in 2017, with Jon Favreau revealed as showrunner. Episodes will be directed by the likes of Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow. Filming began in 2018 and concluded in 2019.
