Synopsis
Based on Disneyland's theme park ride where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles, but with a supernatural element.
This film has been in development for a number of years, going as far back as 2006. At one point (in 2011), Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were rumored to star in it. In 2015, Disney announced their intention to redevelop the film as a vehicle for action star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The supporting cast rounded into shape during the early part of 2018, ahead of principal photography commencing in May of that year. Disney wants to take Jungle Cruise back to its period roots with an old school adventure film.
