Basketball and movie star LeBron James is coming to Fortnite as a new Icon Series skin according to a reliable leak and data miner who has released accurate information about the battle royale game in the past. The news comes just a few days after Epic Games announced that a Loki skin would be available in Fortnite as part of the Season 7 content update. The Marvel character had been teased in loading screens for the game and his arrival coincides with the launch of the TV series on Disney+.

This would not be the first time that LeBron James has been included in a video game. In June, it emerged that he would star in an Xbox exclusive beat 'em up game in the style of old arcade titles. Based on the upcoming movie, Space Jam: A New Legacy - The Game will see the basketballer team up with the likes of Bugs Bunny in side-scrolling action as they attempt to stop the Goon Squad. Microsoft also revealed that it will release two exclusive Space Jam-themed controllers as part of a promotion with the film.

It looks like the next big skin coming to Fortnite could be a basketball star, LeBron James. A prominent leaker known as ShiinaBR on Twitter has confirmed that the athlete will be the next skin released as part of the Icon Series, which brings real-world figures to the battle royale game such as sports stars, streamers, and musicians. The leak has subsequently been corroborated by other Fortnite leakers and data miners and will seemingly include special quests that will allow players to earn rewards. Exactly what form the LeBron James skin will take is unknown, though it's likely that it will reference Space Jam: A New Legacy as the movie is due out in cinemas on July 16.

Epic Games also recently revealed that it would make its anti-cheating software available to developers. As part of the Epic Online Services toolkit, studios can get access to its Voice and Easy Anti-Cheat technology. This will allow teams to quickly implement in-game voice communication and put barriers in place to prevent hackers from ruining the experience for others without having to develop their own tools.

It would be no surprise to see LeBron James in Fortnite. The battle royale game has already included many famous figures from the world of sport and entertainment and the basketballer is one of the most recognizable faces on the planet. The collaboration also makes sense considering the imminent release of Space Jam: A New Legacy.
